I think one thing Vance is looking at is whether the income


Donnie claimed for loans matches his income declared for taxes.

Obviously, there are many legal niceties that allow for differences there, but there is also bank fraud potential.

This fraud could be committed with legal tax filings.

Of course, Vance has been tight lipped so we really don't know what all they're looking at. They've interviewed Cohen 3 times, iirc, so it's possible more expenses were written off as legal expenses where money was being laundered (as with the Stormy payments).

What is not speculation is keeping those records away from prosecutors is something Donnie went to the mat over.
